Popcorn Balls

I inspired this recipe from an idea I saw online. There were these delicious "popcorn balls", however they were made with molasses, corn syrup, and other highly fattening ingredients. I switched up this recipe to make it my own. I substituted the artificial sugary ingredients for natural alternatives and a healthier popcorn. This is a great treat for a sweet and savory snack.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 quarts Skinny Pop Salted Popcorn

  • 1/2 cup honey

  • 1/2 cup agave syrup

  • 2 tsp vinegar

  • 1 1/2 tbsp light butter

  • ground cinnamon to taste

  • Optional: add in raisins, chocolate chips, nuts, sesame seeds, flax seeds etc. when you are forming the shaping the popcorn balls for some extra flavor.

Instructions: (makes about 12 balls)

  1. Spray non-stick cooking spray over a large baking sheet.

  2. Combine honey, agave syrup, and vinegar in a medium saucepan; cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until mixture reaches soft crack stage. Remove from heat; stir in the light butter.

  3. Pour syrup over popcorn; stir until all popcorn is coated. Let mixture cool slightly; shape into 2 1/2-inch balls.

  4. Evenly sprinkle cinnamon over the popcorn balls.
